An evening

There is no menu.

João writes it the morning of the experience. Whatever came off the mountain. Whatever the Atlantic gave up before lunch. By the time the stars are out over the Arade valley, you realise you stopped checking your phone an hour ago.  Good. Stay there.

Hosted by Loki and Arvad in support of the Portimão Soup Kitchen. Strictly limited seats.

In collaboration

Two Algarve houses, one long table.

The kitchen

LOKI By Chef João Marreiros

Local. Authentic. Food.

An ingredient-driven kitchen rooted in Monchique. Chef João forages the mountain, fishes the coast, and writes the menu by the day. For Vine & Fire, the kitchen comes to the vineyard.

The vineyard

Phoenician roots · Arade Valley

Fourteen hectares above the Arade, planted on clay and limestone a young Algarve estate borrowing its name from an ancient seafaring island. Long pergola, sunset porch, small-batch wines from the cellar below.

A private vineyard dinner by Loki

An evening where food becomes art,
and the vineyard becomes its gallery.

Five courses by Loki. Paired wines. A rare evening of food, wine, and fire in the vines.

The Chef

João Marreiros of Loki

João Marreiros' food is rooted in the Serra de Monchique, where he was born and where his earliest memories were shaped by gathering wild plants and ingredients for his grandmother's recipes.

At Loki, that relationship with land, memory, and season becomes something precise and intimate: local flavours carried through refined technique, served as a deeply personal expression of the Algarve.

Three wine glasses clinking against the Algarve sunset.

Arrival at the Vineyard

A private welcome among the vines as the evening settles over the valley.

An Arvad Reserva bottle with two glasses and a charcuterie board lit by an open fire.

The Opening Glass

Wine and first bites served slowly, setting the tone for what follows.

A Loki dish in a streambed with sauce being poured from a black ceramic pig-head vessel.

Five Courses by Loki

A dining experience shaped as art: seasonal, intimate, and composed for the vineyard.

Chef João Marreiros lying in shallow water in his leather apron, water haloed around him.

The Gallery After Dark

As plates clear, the vineyard becomes the room. Wine, fire, music, and conversation take over.

Hands rolling a small oak barrel across a dark wooden table.

The Final Pour

No hard close. The night ends only when the fire fades.

A few honest answers

Before you join the reserve list.

When exactly is it?
Saturday, 22 August 2026. The evening begins as the vineyard moves into golden hour, with final arrival details shared privately with confirmed guests.
How much will it cost?
The first release is sold out. Join the reserve list through the newsletter popup on this page and we will contact people there first if any seats reopen. Each seat is €120 and includes the full five-course Loki dining experience, with Arvad wines served at the table. Four bottles are included per table, with additional drinks available separately. Every euro after costs goes directly to the Portimão Soup Kitchen.
What if it rains?
The evening has been designed with the setting in mind. The pergola is covered, and Arvad has an indoor option should the weather require it.
Dietary preferences?
The menu will be shaped around ingredients donated on the day, and Chef João will work with what arrives. Because of that, we will not be able to adjust dishes for individual preferences. If you have a serious allergy, please contact us before reserving.
Is it for children?
This is an adults-only evening, designed as a long-table vineyard dinner with wine, music, firelight, and a late finish. Other Portimão Soup Kitchen events welcome all ages.
